Birth Report: A cyst on the ovary

Daniela Topa tells: “After long, desperate attempts to get pregnant, the long-awaited day finally came when I found out that I was pregnant. But the joy didn’t last long.”

The test was positive and the period was already 14 days overdue, but my gynecologist couldn’t find a child. It said, “Sorry, I see mucous membrane, which would indicate pregnancy, but no amniotic sac.” The doctor assumed it was an ectopic pregnancy and said that if I was in pain, I should see a doctor immediately, whether it was day or night. I couldn’t believe it and went to another gynecologist seven days after this finding.

a wind egg?

Diagnosis: There is mucous membrane and a 1 cm amniotic sac, but no child. “Probably a Windei” it said. I thought I was in the wrong movie. Another week later, when nobody believed it anymore and another ultrasound examination took place, the device suddenly showed a heartbeat. That’s how the doctor found the little mouse and I was overjoyed. The fear was over.

Time flies

I was 9 weeks and all tests showed everything was ok. The best moment was in the 13th week when I felt the first movements. I started talking to the sweet mouse because I knew from the first moment it was going to be a girl. I don’t know why, I just knew. I started running my hand down her stomach and with some pressure the little one tried to kick her stomach. I was overjoyed and the time flew by. In the 22nd week I got the certainty that it is a girl, which I never doubted anyway. Everything was perfect. The entire pregnancy was a dream and without any problems until the 37th week when the contractions started .

Ovarian cyst: Caesarean section vs. water birth

They came 1-2 times a week and made me cry in pain. It was getting worse and worse. A cyst with a diameter of 7 × 5 cm was found on the ovary. It was said that this can cause pain, but it can only be removed after the delivery. When I couldn’t take the pain anymore, I wanted a cesarean section , even though I was so looking forward to a water birth. However, the pain was unbearable, so at 39 weeks I had a cesarean section within 24 hours. Out of sheer anticipation, I didn’t feel any pain at all and had an epidural given to witness the birth of my daughter.

The little one is here!

It happened very quickly and when I heard the first screams of my little mouse, it brought tears to my eyes with joy. I was allowed to look at it briefly, then the midwife and the proud father carried my mouse away for examination. I felt great and thought everything was perfect now, but then the doctor called a senior physician and chief physician, who then asked me if he could remove the cyst right away.

A benign tumor

I agreed and learned a day later that it was a benign tumor that had attacked the ovary, which they also had to partially remove. I was shocked but lucky. When I came into the delivery room, my partner was already waiting with my little mouse named Johanna. I was very glad.

Everyone is healthy and happy

She is perfectly healthy, weighed 3450 g and was 51 cm tall. The prettiest baby in the world. Today she turned 8 weeks old and we are so happy with her that everything else is forgotten and we are already planning a sibling. That was my story and as unbelievable as some of it sounds, that’s exactly what happened…
