Bleeding during pregnancy can occur especially in the first and second trimester. Bleeding occurs less frequently in the last third, but can have causes that are life-threatening for the child.

These often occur after irritation of the vaginal and cervical mucosa, which can happen, for example, during sexual intercourse.
