The melody of the classic Christmas carol “O Tannenbaum” originally comes from an old craft song “Es lebe hoch”. August Zarnack wrote the text of the first verse in 1820, which almost every child can sing along to today. The second and third stanzas were composed by Ernst Anschütz in 1824.
