Birthday games: weekday hopping

In this version of the hopscotch, children hop through the days of the week. The children use a stone as an aid. This game for children from 4 years is fun both alone and with several other players.

Age: from 4 years

Number: at least 1 player

What you need: Sidewalk chalk, 1 small stone

Weekday hopping – how it works

7 boxes are drawn on top of each other on the floor and labeled with the days of the week, only Thursday and Friday are next to each other. You jump into these two boxes with a straddle jump. You hop into the Sunday box with both feet, in the others on one leg. In the first round, a child throws the stone into the Monday box and skips Monday; on the way back, the stone must be picked up again from the Tuesday box while standing on one leg. This is how all days of the week are played through.
