The first birthday is something special

Have you been looking forward to your baby’s 1st birthday for weeks? Even though you know that your sweetheart is still too young to understand what’s going on that day, you still want to make it special!

There are many ways to celebrate your child’s first birthday. It is important that you do what you want and what you believe is good for your baby. Don’t let the expectations of those around you push you into something that could be too much for you or your child. But don’t let anyone talk you out of celebrating for your baby because they say “it doesn’t notice anything anyway”.

Celebrating children’s birthdays on their first birthday?

If you think your child will enjoy it, you can, for example, invite some children from the toddler group or friends and celebrate a real children’s birthday party. The little ones already know each other and spend time together anyway. But it could be that it will soon be too much for the dwarfs, since the mood on birthdays is usually much more upbeat than usual.

Invite relatives and friends to the first birthday

Many mothers mainly invite relatives and close friends over for coffee and cake. Here, too, you have to decide for yourself how much you trust your child. Of course, it can be really nice to exchange ideas and share memories with people who have followed your baby’s first year of life intensively. On the other hand, as the number of guests increases, so does the risk that your child will be overwhelmed by the attention he is suddenly being given. Some mothers swear by the rule of thumb “the number of guests equals the number of birthdays”.

Take a first birthday trip

Maybe you just want to do something nice with your birthday child to make the day something special. You could invite a little friend of your baby and you go to a nice swimming pool. There are also animal parks and indoor playgrounds.

Celebrate with dad

Since the day is of course primarily a special event for you and dad, instead of a big celebration for your sweetheart, you could also organize a small celebration for yourself as soon as the little one is in bed.

What activities on the first birthday?

Depending on the time of year your baby was born, there are different activities available for the birthday party. In summer, of course, a garden party is ideal. There, the little guests can spill as they please without having to worry about the carpet cleaning. Maybe you want to set up a small paddling pool?

But there are also tips that are fun for winter children. How about putting a large mattress on the floor and setting up a Tobe corner with lots of balloons?

Since every child reacts differently to hustle and bustle and many people, only you can decide what is right because you are of course the best judge of your baby.

Our tip: It could be an advantage if you try to stick to the usual daily rhythm. For example, you could send all guests home at 7 p.m. so that your child can still process the day’s experiences in peace before going to bed.
