Loaf pan parrot cake

The parrot cake in the form of a loaf is one of the classics at every children’s birthday party. This variant from the loaf pan is quick and easy to prepare.

For the parrot cake in a loaf pan you will need:

  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups Seltzer or Fanta
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • baking and food coloring

You need for the icing:

  • about 125g butter or margarine
  • lemon juice to taste
  • approx. 200g powdered sugar

preparation

For the dough, mix the eggs, the sugar, the water or the Fanta and the oil until a foamy liquid forms. Then add the flour with the mixed baking powder by the teaspoonful and stir again.

Now you put the dough in small containers (e.g. in cups) and color it with the food colors. Alternatively, you can also use cocoa or jelly powder.

Creative blobs of dough

Now it gets creative: fill the colorful dough into the loaf pan one after the other. As it bakes, the colors mix together to make a beautiful colorful parrot cake. Bake the dough on high heat for about 10 to 15 minutes.

For the icing, slightly dissolve the butter or margarine and mix it with the powdered sugar and lemon juice. Spread it over the cake immediately after baking. The colorful parrot cake in a box shape is ready.
