Measuring clothing sizes for children
The clothing size of a child is mainly determined by his height and proportions. The values of the size charts are average values in the corresponding age groups, which are for orientation only. Often the values of children deviate from the average values. It is also worthwhile to compare the sizes of the manufacturers before buying. Unfortunately, size specifications from manufacturers are sometimes very different. In order to measure the different volumes, aBody and circumferential tape measureDisplaymake sense.
- Measure height: The best way to measure your child’s height is in front of a wall. With a tape measure you now measure from the crown to the sole.
- Measure chest circumference: The chest circumference is the strongest part of the chest that you can measure horizontally with the tape measure.
- Measure waist circumference: You measure the waist circumference loosely once around the waist of your child. Sometimes it is also called waistband circumference.
- Measure hip circumference: The hip circumference is measured horizontally with the measuring tape around the buttocks.
- Measure stride length: Stride length is measured on the inside of the leg from crotch to heel.
