Birthday party for toddlers

The expectations of a birthday party seem to increase in proportion to the age of the children. The older your child gets, the bigger the party can get – but it doesn’t have to. Some mothers swear by the rule: as many birthday guests as there are years of life. Just decide for yourself how many guests you want to host.

What does your child want?

Your child’s temperament also plays an important role in this decision. Do you have a rather reserved child who prefers to play alone or with their best friend? Then you should refrain from a big party and respond to the wishes of your child. The smaller and more intimate the celebration, the more fun a silent child will have. However, do you have a real rascal at home whose mood increases with the number of guests? Then feel free to invite a few more children.

Birthday party for toddlers: At home instead of on the go?

After the guest list, you should set the right framework for the celebration. As a rule, it makes sense to celebrate the birthday in your own four walls. Especially if your child is under three. The day is already exciting enough, the familiar environment for your child is like a kind of safety net. In the summer it is of course the nicest outside. Then you can easily go to the nearest playground and set up something to eat and drink there. The older your child gets, the sooner the celebration can take place outside the home. You have to do this individually depending on the child’s age, the number of guests and the planned location. Fun should always be in the foreground and not perfection – because as the saying goes: “Nobody is perfect”!
