General information about cistus (Cistus Incanus)

This medicinal plant is also known as “grey hairy cistus” and belongs to the group of secondary plant substances. It is a shrub up to one meter high that smells aromatic. The shrub can be recognized by its ovate-lanceolate leaves and pink flowers.

Use of cistus tea

It has a wide variety of areas of application. The most common form of application is an aqueous extract.

Tea: To prepare a tea to strengthen the immune system, take a teaspoon of cistus in a cup of boiling water, let it steep for 5 minutes, strain the mixture and then sweeten the tea with honey. You should drink 2-3 cups of this per day. You can also use this mixture (without the honey) for body washes. You can also use a Cystus decoction against tonsillitis. To do this, you have to gargle it 4 times a day for 90 seconds and then either spit it out or swallow it.

Poultices: These are placed on open wounds to protect against infection.
