Invitation to Baptism: Texts and Poems
You already have an idea for the design of the invitation card for your child’s christening, but you are still missing the right text? What information should be included? We have collected some examples of texts and poems for you.
Baptism is a celebration of community. That is why you would certainly like to celebrate the baptism of your child with your family and friends. In order for everyone to be able to take part in the celebration, you must of course first send out the invitation to the baptism. But how do I actually write a baptismal invitation? Everything worth knowing should be included in the text, such as the full name of the person to be baptized, the date and time of the baptism, in which church it will take place and where the subsequent celebration is. You can also decorate the baptism invitation with beautiful baptismal sayings or poems. If you don’t have a clear idea of what could be in the invitation, you can get some inspiration here.

Invitation to baptism as a “letter” to the baptized
Watch where you’re going, little foot! Because Heavenly Father is looking down on you. Watch where you’re going, little foot.
Now your little feet are still small, too weak to carry your body.
For a few years we will walk many paths together with you. Until you have found your own way and can walk it.
Dear (name), we wish you healthy and strong feet, tireless and safe in the ways of God.Therefore you shall
be baptized on (date) at (time) in (church).Because his/her first steps are still a little shaky and need support, we would like to cordially invite you to accompany (name) on the day of his/her baptism and on his/her further journey.

Simple text for the invitation to the baptism
Of course you can also choose a very simple invitation text. For example, it could look like this:
We would like to cordially invite you to the christening of our daughter / son (name).
The Christian baptism will take place on (date) in the parish church in (place) at (time).
After the ceremonial baptism, the joint celebration takes place in the inn / tavern / hotel / restaurant (name). Please let us know by (date) if you are coming.
We are looking forward to seeing you soon.
If you decide on the last variant, you can consider whether you should print a nice saying, for example the baptismal motto, or another quote or short poem on the outside of the invitation card. We have also put together some of these for you.

a path on which you have a goal in mind –
a goal that fulfills you.
