Little witch: handicrafts for children aged 4 and over
Here you will find instructions on how you can make a little witch out of leftover fabric with your child. “The witch turns in circles/ If you can do magic, you know how to do it!”
Age: from 4 years
What you need: white fabric, colorful scraps of fabric, cotton wool, rubber ring, felt-tip pens, glue, scissors
Craft instructions for a little witch
- First, your child will use sharp scissors to cut a square approximately 45 x 45 cm out of white fabric.
- Then it forms a piece of cotton into a thick ball and places it in the middle of the fabric as a head.
- Now she stretches the fabric around the ball and gathers it around the doll’s neck. It holds the head in place until you have stretched the elastic around the witch’s neck two or three times.
- If your child now digs into the cotton head with their index finger, they can check whether the rubber band needs to be made tighter or looser.
- Now your child cuts out a triangle as a headscarf from colorful fabric. This is placed over the head and clamped with the tips under the rubber ring at the front.
- Then she cuts a few small corners out of colorful scraps of fabric, which she glues onto the witch’s robe.
- Finally, your child draws a face of the witch with felt-tip pens.
- Now your child can play with the witch and recite a little magic spell: “The witch turns in circles/ If you can do magic, you know how to do it!”
