Storage of children’s pictures & Co.: 8 clever ways
Chestnuts, acorns, colorful leaves – autumn invites children to paint and do handicrafts like hardly any other season. Your child will surely surprise you every day with a new work of art that they proudly present to you. Very beautiful! But where can the umpteenth picture find a place when the fridge and walls are already full of children’s pictures? We show you clever ways to store your child’s pictures and crafts.
Keep or throw away?
Can you just throw away what your child has worked on with so much ambition, creativity and love and is very proud of? You certainly don’t have to pick up every snippet, treat every sheet of paper decorated with stickers like a treasure. Some things can confidently end up in the paper waste. But with the pictures that involve work or that have a special meaning, things are different. They should not be disposed of, certainly not on the sly! This is how you show your child that their creative works are important to you. But how can you store the pictures without them taking up too much space?
Storage of children’s pictures & Co.
memory box
A box or crate is a wonderfully uncomplicated way to store pictures. Just put it in, done. To keep the whole thing clear, you can either use a new box for each year or, alternatively, use a large box for kindergarten and one for school. You will be really pretty when the box is labeled and decorated. Your child can of course do this too.
Digitize images
If you don’t have enough space for various souvenir boxes, you have the option of photographing all the pictures and handicrafts and saving them digitally. A cloud or an external hard drive are suitable for this, for example. Tip: It is best to photograph the pictures on a white background. As a result, they come into their own and everything looks uniform. If you want to look at the pictures in between, a digital photo frame can be the solution! The images are displayed alternately so that you can continue to enjoy them.
Create photo album
The photographed works of art of your sweetheart can of course also be developed and put together in a photo album. This has the advantage that you can create a separate photo album for each event or phase of life. For example, one for each year of life, one for the start of daycare, school enrollment – as you like it.
Exhibit the most beautiful works in picture frames
Of course, some pictures should also be hung in the apartment or house. How about an “art wall”, i.e. a wall on which the most beautiful pictures find a place framed? Like in a gallery! And at home, too, the exhibitions change regularly – new works replace the old ones.
As an alternative to the “art wall”, a picture collage can be made. The example shows an amusing image caption: “Retrospective – artworks by Megan, Samuel, Emma 2018”. Your child will immediately feel like a little artist! Tip: Reduce the pictures beforehand by copying them so that as many pictures as possible have space in the frame.
picture folder
Pictures can be organized in folders. Tip: Laminate the pictures beforehand so that even years later they still look as if they were freshly filed.
bind books
If you like it even fancier, you can bind the pictures into a book – or have them bound. There are different ways to bind books yourself, here is an example. You can look at the book at any time and it certainly looks great on the bookshelf.
Clothesline full of art
A very quick and uncomplicated way to store your child’s pictures is the clothesline. Just stretch a rope along the wall to hang the pictures with clothespins. Here, too, you can exchange regularly when new pictures are added.
