Strengthen self-confidence through games and handicrafts
Your child will become more and more independent from the age of three. It not only develops a strong ‘I-Consciousness’, but also has an irrepressible imagination. Almost anything seems possible in your child’s games.
Children from the age of 3 are mobile, they like to romp around and test their physical limits. At this age, your child can ride a tricycle or go-kart. It can dress itself and freely climb down the stairs, wash and dry its hands, use play dough, undo and undo buttons, cut with scissors and balance on one leg.
How does my child see the world?
Your child now recognizes the difference between girls and boys. It can assign individual details to a larger whole. At the latest, it usually chooses its playmates itself because it is developing its ability to socialize. Your child is also able to recognize and respond to the feelings and moods of those around him. This means that if the friend is sad because he lost his toy, your child will try to comfort him. This is also the stage where the tireless “Why?” begins. to ask questions.
creativity
Your child’s initial doodles slowly turn into drawings and pictures that come closer and closer to reality. Children of this age have a great creative interest. They love to dance, sing, do crafts and paint. They are able to use modeling clay to form the most amazing structures (e.g. snakes), to build towers or to construct more complex buildings from playing pieces.
Prompt to play
In this phase it is important that you play with your child. Encourage exercise and craft activities. Provide your child with enough incentives to let their creativity run free: play dough, pencils, paint – all of this should encourage your child to paint and do handicrafts or to draw letters. Many children find writing exciting now that it is part of the adult world.
improve self-confidence
Give your child space in their fantasy games, let their creativity run wild. But also try to integrate yourself if your child would like that and asks you to play. Also, try to involve your child in your everyday life, to give him tasks if he would like to do them. Children need the feeling that you trust them because it increases their self-esteem. Your trust will strengthen them and encourage them to continue taking their own steps. Even if children don’t always do everything right, they need recognition.
Social contacts
Your child should spend time with other children their own age, as this will develop healthy social behavior. By playing with other children, it learns to find its way in society, to resolve conflicts, to make or share friendships.
Individual characters
Your child is an individual little personality. It may develop differently than other children. But whether it’s already dry or not, or whether it doesn’t speak as well as your neighbor’s child, shouldn’t worry you. Don’t pressure your child, it will intimidate rather than encourage them. Your child will take the important steps in their development, but at their own pace.
Sometimes it’s not just our little ones who need self-confidence, it’s just as much for us mums! If you feel the same way at the moment, we have a number of nice ways to strengthen your well-being! There is bound to be something there for you too.
