Colorful snail: handicrafts for children aged 3 and over
A homemade snail looks nice as a decoration on the windowsill. With a little help, even your four-year-olds can implement this craft idea.
Age: from 3 years
What you need: 2 empty toilet paper rolls, green photo cardboard strips measuring 4 X 40 cm, 1 green pipe cleaner, finger paints, red paper, felt-tip pen, stapler, scissors, double-sided adhesive tape, plate for finger paint
Handicraft instructions for the colorful snail
- Help your child cut a toilet paper roll into three equal pieces.
- Glue a piece of double-sided adhesive tape to the end of the photo cardboard strip so that you can later close the strip to form a circle and glue it shut.
- Now your child can paint the inside of the three pieces of paper roll.
- Once the paint has dried, wrap the rings in the green card stock and glue the ends of the strip together to form a circle.
- Now your child can paint the outside of the second toilet paper roll with finger paint.
- When everything is dry, you pinch the end of the whole roll and round off the corners with the scissors.
- Then you carefully put the pipe cleaner in between and staple the roll together from behind with the stapler.
- For the snail’s nose, have your child cut a circle out of the red paper and stick it in the middle.
- Now your child can paint the eyes and mouth of the funny snail.
- Finally, bend the pipe cleaners into feelers and stick the snail shell to the body with the double-sided adhesive tape.
- The colorful snail is ready!
