Instructions for making the ghost lantern
- First you transfer the templates to the paper. You need the frame made of white photo cardboard twice, once for the front of the lantern and once for the back. The frame connector must be twice the length of the template. The best thing to do is to print them out twice and line up the dotted lines. Then you transfer them to the white photo cardboard.
- You transfer the face twice onto the white photo cardboard, once for the front and once for the back. You need the hands of the little ghost four times on the photo cardboard.
- Transfer the mouth and nose twice onto the pink construction paper. You need the chain links ten times on the red construction paper. You need the template for the tracing paper twice on the white tracing paper.
- Now your child can cut out the shapes.
- Now you can start gluing the lantern together. It’s best to start by gluing the mouth and nose onto the faces. Then your child can paint the little ghost’s eyes.
- Now your child sticks the transparent paper on the frames.
- Next, your child folds up the triangles on the frame connector and puts a little glue on each one. Now your child can glue the two frames to one side of the connecting piece.
- Your child can now glue the chain links together to form a beautiful chain. Now your child glues their hands to each side of the frame and glues the tealight to the bottom of the lantern. When you have threaded the floral wire through the holes at the top of the lantern to act as a lantern hanger, your lantern is complete!
