This is what sex looks like when you have children at home

When it comes to family planning, we’re well aware that with kids we’ll have less time for things like partying or having impromptu sex in the living room. A mother recently described the matter of sexual intercourse in such an apt way that we don’t want to withhold her post from you:

She writes below this picture of herself and her husband:

“Yesterday we had ‘parent sex’.
You know what parenting sex is. It’s the three and a half minutes you get between changing a diaper and preparing a meal when you realize all your kids are very busy right now.

When you realize it’s been almost a month since you last did it and you’re starting to feel like roommates.

When your husband’s sexual request is to point one finger at the bedroom and the other at his crotch.

If you position the bed so that you can hold the door shut with one foot, because your rather noisy children can be pretty quiet when it comes to sneaking up.

When – no matter how hot it is – you throw the covers over you, just in case someone squeezes through the crack in the door and catches mommy and daddy doing “yoga” in bed.

It’s really very romantic. You hear children’s programming in the background and you know your days are numbered as soon as the commercials start.

Men are formidable creatures of sheer determination. It’s inspiring how they manage to “get it done” under these circumstances. We women don’t always do it that easily.
