Adventure vacation with children: The youngsters won’t get bored during a vacation in the holiday park

A holiday park holiday relieves you of a large part of the planning and allows you to spend a lot of time together with your family. Holiday parks are hotel complexes or holiday homes that provide your family with all-round care. Restaurants and shops are not far, as is the fun. There is definitely no boredom here. 

Most holiday parks offer numerous activities such as cooking and horseback riding courses, handicraft workshops and a varied sports program. In addition, shows with music and dance performances await you and your kids in the evenings. In addition to the joint activities, there is often childcare. Here your little ones can play with their peers while you and your partner treat yourself to a little break.

The only downside is that holiday parks are usually not cheap. The complete carefree package of the amusement parks is therefore nothing for small purses and penny pinchers. Especially since you often have to pay extra for many of the courses and workshops. But don’t give up hope too quickly. Some amusement parks also have early booking discounts and other offers where you can save. There are a lot of holiday parks in Germany, for example on the island of Rügen, on the Baltic Sea, in the Harz Mountains and in the Eifel.

On the island of Rügen, for example, you will find a whole range of holiday parks, each of which has its own theme. The holiday parks on the coast are particularly characterized by their closeness to nature. An example of this is the Bernstein holiday park, an apartment complex right on the beach!

Active holiday with children by the sea

If you don’t want to completely hand over the program planning, a classic holiday by the sea is a good choice. After all, what better place for active children to let off steam than on the beach, surrounded by sand and sea? Building sand castles, diving, pedal boating. In addition to these typical activities, there are also various providers for even “wilder” programs in most regions by the sea: let the children pull off a motor boat in a parachute, or ride a jet ski. 

You can find particularly family-friendly hotels in Italy or Croatia on the Adriatic Sea, for example. Vacations are relatively cheap there. Local resorts cater to energetic holidaymakers, too: it’s best to ask what’s on offer. The employees know where curious children’s eyes can get their fill and where even the most active children can let off steam.

Adventure vacation in nature

It will be particularly adventurous for you and your children on an active holiday in close touch with nature. The offers range from Indian villages to cabin holidays. In Germany and Austria there are numerous child-friendly hiking trails that can be combined with a hut holiday. There, young and old can really let off steam. The paths are often connected to parks, playgrounds, climbing gardens and other adventure stations. 

In Indian villages, your children can let their imagination run free in the open air. The great thing: Here they are among other children and do not need to hold back. But even if your children are not Indian fans, there are options: for example the fairytale houses in Saarland. The village is located directly on the Bostalsee. There you and your family will stay in a little house equipped with climbing nets, ladders and slides for the little ones. 

Holiday in the amusement park

The amusement park is an option, especially if you are only planning a short vacation, but your children still need a maximum power program. Many larger amusement parks offer accommodation in their own hotels. You can pretty much leave the children to themselves – they will show you where they want to go and can let off steam as they please. 

There are a large number of amusement parks in Germany. Be it Legoland, Phantasialand or Europa-Park. Can it be a bit bigger? Then, of course, Disneyland in France is also an option. 

Legoland, for example, offers its guests space in its own hotel resort. The amusement park itself makes children’s hearts beat faster: Here your kids meet their Lego heroes and can let off steam in various roller coasters, water slides or in “Miniland”. 

Smaller amusement parks are often less stressful or hectic, but usually do not have their own hotel. But if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle, it is worth looking for accommodation in the surrounding villages. 

Active holidays in the thermal baths or in the adventure pool

An active holiday with children and mom and dad can relax at the same time? A holiday in an adventure pool or thermal bath can make both parties really happy. Because while your children let off steam on the slides or in the wave pool, you take care of the lounger or test the sauna. Adventure pools are usually part of a hotel complex, which guarantees a holiday feeling. 

Tips for adventure pools are, for example, the Tropical Islands, the Badeparadies Schwarzwald, the Aqualand in Cologne or the Therme Erding. 

The Tropical Islands near Berlin are a prime example of a varied adventure holiday: Here you can holiday under palm trees while your children try out the countless slides, let themselves be carried along by the wild water river or visit the in-house rainforest in the tropical village. These are just some of the attractions you can explore with your family.
