Alpro KIDS in the MomaSquad product test: plant-based, delicious, good!

Alpro KIDS – this is a plant-based quark alternative for children. Together with their families, the MomaSquad employees have tested Alpro’s new product for you over the past few weeks. Read here how it works for young and old.

Parents are often looking for healthy in-between snacks for their offspring. According to a study , the snacks have to please the children in particular in order to be bought by mum and dad. For children, one thing counts above all: it has to taste good! Parents also like to see what’s inside. The sugar content of food plays a role in the purchasing decision of almost half of all parents.

The new Alpro KIDS soy quark alternatives combine both: Alpro KIDS is available in two delicious varieties: mango and strawberry. The fruity plant-based quark alternatives for children are naturally lactose-free – this also has a positive effect on the total sugar content, which has 8.1 g of sugar and 83 kcal per 100 grams (mango variety).

The practical little cups fit in any picnic basket or lunch box (keep refrigerated or eat directly with a spoon) and are an ideal snack for in between or a delicious dessert. And for summer days, delicious ice cream can be easily made from it. Simply stick popsicle sticks into the soy quark alternatives, place in the freezer for a few hours and enjoy ice-cold.

The Alpro KIDS soy quark alternatives provide valuable vegetable protein, are naturally low in saturated fatty acids and enriched with vitamin B12, vitamin B2, vitamin D and calcium. Protein, calcium and vitamin D are required for healthy growth and healthy bone development in children.¹ The plant-based quark alternatives contain no artificial colors, preservatives or sweeteners.

The plant-based quark alternatives can also score in terms of sustainability, because the production of Alpro soy products uses significantly less agricultural land and water, while also causing less CO2. The soybeans are non-GMO and come directly from long-standing contract farmers in Europe and Canada.

But what do families and children say about Alpro ‘s plant-based quark alternatives ? The MomaSquad team has tested Alpro KIDS exclusively for you over the past few weeks. Of course, the youngsters were also allowed to try diligently. Here we present our test results.

Convincing first impression

Alpro KIDS was able to convince our testers at first glance:

“The packaging is simple, but that makes it particularly appealing.”

“Very cute packaging, compact, easy to ration.”

“Good size, especially for small children’s hands. I like that the single cup is more squashed and wider than the competition. It feels really nice in the hand. It also feels better, not as smooth.”

“The drawings are beautiful. They are not cheesy or cluttered like other products. This also makes it appear more valuable.”

“Do we have any more?”

Then it was finally time to try it. This part of the test was of course particularly well received by the young testers. The MomaSquad team especially liked the authentic fruit taste. The testers also had the feeling that they were offering their children a good, balanced snack and liked the small, child-friendly portions. One child was still rather skeptical at first, but quickly changed his mind the second time he tried it – and after the third spoonful, the question “Do we have more?” followed .

Among other things, the Alpro KIDS testers praised the fact that the plant-based quark alternative from Alpro tastes more like fruit and the sweetness is well balanced . The testers had expected more sweetness and sugar for a product for children. This is what the “big” testers say about the taste:

“I was surprised at how natural it tasted. Very fruity and simply delicious.

“I pay a lot of attention to the sugar content, especially in yoghurt and quark. As a rule, I avoid snacks that are advertised specifically for children, as the sugar content is often particularly high here. Alpro KIDS is a pleasant exception here. ”

“It tastes sweet but not industrially sweet – so natural. The consistency and the not too gaudy, “real” color underline the naturalness of the product.”

“It tastes delicious. I generally eat little “real” flavored yoghurt. But what strikes me is the consistency: like other Alpro products, I like that this one is not too soft.”

Can you taste the difference?

But can you taste the difference between the plant-based Alpro KIDS soy quark alternatives and conventional quark products? And if so, how is this expressed?

“I didn’t even notice that it was a plant-based alternative, I think that’s great!”

“I was indeed pleasantly surprised. Normally I’m very critical when it comes to “soy” and I don’t like a lot of things.”

“You can taste it a little, but since I don’t like milk anyway and only eat a few dairy products, it doesn’t bother me. Has a delicious aftertaste!”

“I don’t think it tastes like a plant-based alternative, but I did feel the texture was firmer than dairy.”

The testers would recommend Alpro KIDS

From the first impression of the packaging to the nutritional profile and taste: Alpro KIDS was well received by all testers, big and small. And the sugar content was also convincing. We have therefore awarded Alpro KIDS our product test seal, which will now also be visible on the packaging. So keep your eyes open in the supermarket 😉

The new plant-based quark alternative from Alpro will certainly be found in our refrigerators from time to time!
