The red fire engine made of paprika
Tatütata, the fire brigade against Kohldampf is here! With macaroni, peppers and carrots, flaring hunger is put to an end.
You need this for “The Red Fire Engine”
4 red peppers
16 medium-sized mushrooms
100 g cooked macaroni
1 tablespoon canola oil
2 tablespoons grated parmesan
2 tablespoons chopped basil
2 medium-sized carrots
a little lemon juice
a few basil leaves
1 teaspoon each salt, pepper
8 skewers
Preparation:
The red fire engine can be built in almost the same way as the Schumi-Brummi . First you have to cut off the car roofs from the peppers. Then you can hollow out the peppers and remove all the seeds. Cut off the heads of the mushrooms and use them as wheels. To make them look like wheel rims, carve the heads in a cross shape, salt and pepper them and fry them very briefly in a pan.
The kebab skewers serve as axes. Simply attach a mushroom head to one end of the skewers and then insert the skewers through the peppers as rear or front axles so that they look out on the other side. Skewer mushroom heads on the free tips.
For the filling of the fire engine, mix the cooked macaroni with the canola oil, the grated parmesan, salt, pepper and the herbs. Fill in the peppers and bake in the oven for about 10 minutes at 180 °C.
While the fire engine is baking, you carve your fire ladder out of long slices of carrot . Let your parents help you with this. Lightly salt the ladder, sprinkle with a little lemon juice and place through the open roof in the finished car. Now decorate with the basil leaves – clear the way for using your fire engine on the dining table!
