  • Application via the counseling center: There are numerous counseling centers in Germany that can provide you with the necessary application forms and support you in applying for a mother-child cure. Institutions and associations, such as the mothers ‘ recovery organization or Kur+Reha GmbH, usually offer this service free of charge. You will also find advice on possible therapies and corresponding clinics here. If your application is rejected, a counseling center can also help you to appeal. However, a counseling center does not replace a visit to the doctor. Whether a mother-child cure is approved ultimately depends on the diagnosis of your doctor.

Tips for applying for a mother-child cure

Many applications are rejected because they are incomplete or not meaningful enough. You should therefore pay attention to the following when applying:

  • Clear formulation of the complaints: Your mental and physical complaints and the connection with your role as a mother must be clear and detailed in the application. For example, if you suffer from insomnia or anxiety, cry often and have problems with your child as a result, this should also be described as such. Physical limitations and their effects, such as back problems when playing, should also be presented in as much detail as possible. Vague formulations such as “exhaustion” are usually not sufficient for approval.
  • Emphasize the necessity of the inpatient measure: A special wording in the application is also important for approval, stating that a withdrawal from everyday life – i.e. an inpatient measure – is absolutely necessary for you.
