Early intervention: How many baby courses are too many?
Every mother wants to support her child. But when does your child attend too many courses? Is it possible to promote your child too much and thus overwhelm him? You can find out how to avoid the early intervention mania here.
As a mother, you naturally want to support your child in the best possible way. It should not have any disadvantages later in school just because it did not get the right support in the first few months. This is the fear of many mothers: Will my child mentally lag behind others if he has not done the PEKiP course and the music garden and the baby swimming and babyyogaandthebaby language course? Out of uncertainty, many parents register for numerous courses at the same time. For many mothers, there is often a different course on the program every day. This can be very stressful even for the mother, not only for the child.

ToggleBaby courses are not a must
Each baby course promotes the development of your child in its own way and can be a lot of fun for you and your child. But you don’t have to stress that you don’t promote your sweetheart everywhere, because your child will always be able to do some things better and others worse than others. But even a baby course does not change that. With the right choice, you can promote your child’s talents. If your child needs more support in a particular area, a baby course can help here. For example, a very active course if your child is rather sluggish, and you find that he needs more exercise. Importantly, experts say that even children without early intervention are able to live out their talents. So you don’t have to have a guilty conscience if you haven’t attended every possible baby course. This will not harm your child in any case.
Too many baby courses put a strain on you and your child
Don’t enroll your child in too many courses. Instead, gradually test how many courses are right for you. How many courses you can attend also depends heavily on your weekly schedule and your child:
- Do you have the whole week or do you still work or have other fixed tasks? Because if you can only incorporate courses into your everyday life under stress, then your child will also notice this stress and often feel it. Only if you are relaxed and fun, your child can have fun.
- How balanced and stress-resistant is your child? Does your child need more rest or less than others? Keep in mind that your baby needs a lot of sleep in the first few months of life. Regular sleep and meals are very important for healthy development. Too much stress and irregular eating can otherwise lead to abdominal pain, flatulence and diarrhea in your child. Planning classes during sleep times tends not to promote your child’s good mood and fun.
- If you and your child have a lot of time and few fixed plans during the week, a baby course more can of course be a nice change for you and your sweetheart. If you two approach the meetings relaxed, and can comfortably attend your baby courses without the hustle and bustle, then feel free to choose another offer if you would like to try one more in particular.
Select and supplement specific courses
There are numerous offers that are suitable for different age groups and interests. Inform yourself beforehand about the courses offered in your area and ask other mothers about their experiences. Whether music, relaxation, art or movement, in the water or in the dry – the choice is yours!
We would recommend the following from our experience: First decide on a maximum of two courses. Does attending two courses a week give you enough free time? Are you relaxed in your daily routine and do you have the same impression of your child? If you still want more, you can choose another course after some time and integrate it into your week.
