DELFI courses: What awaits you and your child in this baby course
DELFI is a baby course that promotes your baby’s senses and movements. What you and your child experience and learn at DELFI, from what age such a course can be attended, and who offers the DELFI courses, you can find out here.
Where does DELFI come from?
“DELFI” is a neologism composed of the following “Denken,E ntwickeln,L ieben,F ĂĽhlen,I nindividual”. The concept was published by the Federal Association of Protestant Family Educational Institutions. Employees of the Evangelical-Lutheran Family Education Center Celle developed the concept. The course instructors are also trained there. Most of them have already completed training in socio-educational, psychological or medical fields. The concept focuses on the playful promotion of movement and sensory development of babies.
What happens in the DELFI course?
In the course you will learn how to support the development of your baby in a playful way. The course instructor shows various perception and movement stimulations, holding and carrying handles, songs, finger and touch games according to the children’s level of development.
The focus of a meeting is above all the fun of togetherness. Parents can also get information on current topics and exchange ideas with other parents.
In detail, the different areas of the concept are represented as follows:
- Think:Â Your child is curious about his environment from birth. Babies learn through impressions, perceptions and suggestions from the immediate physical and social environment. This influences the development of your child. At DELFI, this learning process is supported by free will and research.
- Develop:Â Your baby is actively developing. Through their own life experience, they acquire various skills after just a few weeks and form their own picture of the world. Never again will your child learn as much as until his first birthday. DELFI offers your baby a particularly free and diverse way to develop.
- Love:Â Your child needs a lot of attention and love, especially at the beginning. A close bond supports healthy development. DELFI can help you express your positive feelings correctly. Loving attention helps your child to come to terms with the realities of life. A strong sense of support also supports the development of a close relationship between you and your child.
- Feel:Â Your baby needs touch like any other human being. For the youngest, non-verbal communication with the parents at the beginning takes place only on this level. Therefore, it is important to promote touch perception. DELFI supports you in perceiving the different sensations of your child. Through the support in the DELFI course, your baby grows into your family with all his senses.
- Individual:Â Each child’s development is individual. This is to be underlined at DELFI. Every baby has a different pace of development. The relationships between parents and their baby are unique. Maintaining an intact relationship is fundamental to your baby’s development. Therefore, in the DELFI course your eye for the individuality of your child should be sharpened.
