Where does the term FABEL come from?
FABEL stands for “FAmilien-centeredBaby-EL tern concept”. It was developed by the Society for Birth Preparation (GfG) and with the support of the Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA). FABULOUS courses are protected by law. They may only be offered by specialists specially trained for the FABEL concept.
What happens during the FABEL course?
The FABEL course is intended to deal with all sorts of topics related to your baby in conversation with other parents and the course instructors. In a cozy atmosphere, parents should have the opportunity to observe the development of their child in peace and then support it accordingly. This is about all the senses of your child. The motor as well as the mental agility of your baby are promoted by various games.
At the FABEL meeting, you and your child will learn games for the group and for everyday life at home. With rhymes and songs, the FABEL course promotes your baby’s sense of rhythm and language. The body feeling is then supported by petting and rocking games. You will receive information about the development of your child, breastfeeding, carrying aids, the sleep behavior of the tots and much more.
This is what you can expect at the FABEL course:
- Exchange and information about the individual handling of your baby
- Interesting facts about development in the first year of life
- Strengthening competence as parents
- Various play materials
- Different sensory experiences for your baby
- Personal exchange about the new situation as a family with child
- Songs and movement games
Why take a FABULOUS course?
When the child is born, parents ask themselves many questions: What do I need to do to make my child develop well? How do I promote it properly without overtaxing it? Or simply: How do I breastfeed properly? When should my baby get solid food? Countless questions arise about education, nutrition, family and development. In the FABEL group, parents should get answers to their questions.
For you and your baby, the FABEL course offers the following positive aspects:
- Your baby can learn his movement from lying down to standing independently. The FABEL course helps him with a loving accompaniment and admiration for the development progress.
- You learn to observe your child closely and get a better view of the progress in development, without drawing the comparison with the neighbor child at the same age. This takes pressure off you and relaxes your baby.
- You will learn how to best respond to your child’s signals in order to communicate with them. The language and perception of your baby develops with all senses.
- You give your child small suggestions so that it can then carry out the further movement independently. This strengthens your baby’s self-confidence.
- Your partner and you experience a nice time together with your child with a lot of fun, without your child having to achieve a specific learning goal.
