Homemade Cinnamon Americans

The cinnamon turns the simple Americans into a delicious Christmas dessert. Your little ones will surely taste good too.

Homemade Cinnamon Americans are an unusual but extremely delicious addition to the holiday feast. They taste best when the dough is still warm and the scent of cinnamon fills the room.

You need ingredients:

300 g flour
150 g butter
3 eggs
1 ½ sachet custard powder cream flavor
1 pinch salt
120 g sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
3 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp milk
some icing sugar
some water
some cinnamon

Preparation of the Cinnamon Americans:

  • Mix the butter with the sugar. Then alternately add the flour-baking-powder-custard powder mixture and the milk with the eggs. Stir in the salt and cinnamon.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Use two spoons to place small mounds of dough on the tray and bake them in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 15 minutes. Then let them cool down a bit.
  • Prepare a thick glaze with the powdered sugar and water. If you like, you can stir in some cinnamon. Brush the Americans with it and let them dry.
