General information about cradle cap
The two skin diseases, cradle cap and cranial scab, are very common in infants, with cradle cap the skin tending to be weeping and red, and cranial scab (also known as cranial gneiss) tends to be greasy and scaly. The cause of cradle cap has not yet been researched. It is assumed that the sebaceous glands are overproducing or that the young body cannot cope with the elimination of toxins. Cradle cap usually occurs in the second month of life and disappears on its own by the first year of life at the latest. Today, cradle cap is classified as harmless. If you want to remove your baby’s scab, you can massage olive oil into the scalp and then carefully comb it out. If the scalp becomes very wet and red, seek medical advice.
