8th month of pregnancy: your baby
In the 8th month of pregnancy (29th to 32nd week of pregnancy) your baby will grow a lot again:
- In the 8th month, the unborn child, with a height of around 40 cm and a weight of around 1600 grams, already looks like it did when it was born.
- All organs are fully developed, only the lungs still have to mature.
- It can distinguish voices from each other and recognize the contrast between light and dark. It will also smile when it hears your voice, for example.
- Since the space in the abdomen has become very narrow and the amniotic fluid has been reduced by half, your baby’s movements become less frequent and weaker.
- Perhaps it is already turning its head downwards into the “skull position”, the starting position for the forthcoming birth.
- His toes are already fully developed – the toenails are formed in the 30th week of pregnancy .
- Note : The seventh check-up is due.
8th month of pregnancy: Your body
Towards the end of the 8th month of pregnancy (29th to 32nd week of pregnancy) your belly continues to grow significantly. It’s getting tight for your baby. The uterus is now well above the navel. Unfortunately, your intestines do not have much space left, which can lead to pain in some pregnant women.
