Filled salmon rolls as a starter

Salmon rolls for Christmas are very light and unusual. Your family will surely be amazed when you serve them this dish!

Filled salmon rolls are traditionally filled with cream cheese, but they also taste very good with horseradish cream, as in our recipe. In combination with trout caviar, they become a real treat.

Ingredients for filled salmon rolls:

1 cucumber
A few leaves of oak leaf lettuce
½ bunch of dill
8 slices of smoked salmon
4 tbsp horseradish cream
4 tbsp trout caviar
Lemons for garnish

Preparation:

  • First you peel the cucumber. Cut 1/3 of it into thin strips, the rest into diagonal slices. Cut the oak leaf lettuce into small pieces and finely chop the dill.
  • Then halve the salmon slices and brush them with horseradish cream. Scatter the dill, oak leaf strips, and cucumber strips on top and roll up.
  • Arrange the rolls on cucumber slices and spread the trout caviar on top. Garnish with lemon slices and some dill.
  • Tip: A marinade made from a diced onion, 1 tsp mustard, 2 tbsp vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar and 4 tbsp oil also goes well with it.
