Halloween films for children and young people

A Halloween party means fun and spooky at the same time. Children especially like this. Below we have put together some tips and suggestions for a successful Halloween party for children.

A spooky atmosphere, scary Halloween costumes and ghostly decorations – whether bought or homemade – should not be missing at a Halloween party – that’s clear. First and foremost, however, it’s about fun and of course the scary factor shouldn’t go so far that it scares children in the long term.

Child-friendly Halloween party

How scary it can be ultimately depends on the children who are at the Halloween party: How old are the children? Are there particularly anxious children or older ones who could scare off the smaller ones? What do you think they can “tolerate”? With humor and a watchful eye, you make sure that things don’t get too spooky for the children and that mysterious situations can be cleared up quickly if necessary.

Create a spooky Halloween invitation

Already with the invitation to the Halloween party you can put your guests in the right mood. There are no limits for the fanatasy. You can design the invitation cards yourself together with your child, for example from black cardboard, which you paint with white spiders, cobwebs or small vampires. Or you create the invitation cards on the computer, either yourself or using a template.

Procedure of the Halloween party

There are, of course, endless ways you can throw a Halloween party for kids. You can start as early as the afternoon or early in the evening when it is already getting dark. You can further narrow down the theme of the Halloween party, for example as “gathering of witches” or “ghost dinner” – whatever you like. For an entertaining course and good entertainment at your Halloween party, here are a few suggestions that you can combine and vary individually:

  • Halloween Games: They are the ideal pastime. In a darkened room, you can easily create an eerie atmosphere with candles or a flashlight. Shadow games on the wall, for example in the form of cobwebs or bats, also create a spooky atmosphere. You can find suggestions for games in our article “5 Halloween Games for Kids” .
  • Halloween Dinner: A Halloween party also needs to take care of your physical well-being. See our Halloween Recipes article for suggestions.
  • “Trick or treats”: The classic candy hunt through the neighborhood is always a highlight. We have put together the best sayings for Halloween for you here.
  • Night hike: This is particularly good if your guests are staying with you. A short walk around the block or a stroll through the garden can be enough. You can place a few inserts along the way, for example a “corpse” in the form of a stuffed jogging suit on the fence or balcony or mysterious noises such as creaking doors or screams from a hidden cell phone. Perhaps a previously initiated ghost can scurry past or startle you along the way.
  • Costume Prize: You can vote for the most beautiful costume in a dark secret ceremony. The winner gets a small gift or can determine the next game.
  • Film: A scary film provides excitement. In our article “Halloween films” you will find age-appropriate film tips.
  • Scary story: Before you go to bed you can tell a scary story in spooky lighting.

A small farewell gift for each guest rounds off the party and is a nice keepsake. And now we wish you lots of fun planning your Halloween party and an unforgettable evening!
