Improving the world of babies: What parents really want
The digital “Pampers Elternrat” was launched by Pampers – to improve the world of babies together. How can this succeed? What moves parents? And what kind of support would you like? Real Parents and Experts Provide the Answers…
Once the baby is born, parents are faced with many questions. This not only applies to the first phase of getting to know each other, but throughout the entire first year – the exciting, exciting and particularly formative time up to toddler status. But what do parents really need in order to be able to make the world of their babies better, if not perfect?

ToggleIt’s up to us parents!
A question that moves Pampers in many ways. In order to answer them, Pampers not only initiated a survey specifically for this purpose, the Pampers Report, but even went one step further: As part of the first digital parents’ council, everything revolved around the concerns of parents, their worries, real emotional worlds and needs. Because one thing is certain for Pampers, as midwife and Pampers expert Christiane Hammerl puts it in a nutshell:
But what does it take to ensure that mum and dad, and therefore also the babies, are doing well? They can best answer that themselves – and that’s exactly what they did at the first Pampers Elternrat. parents advice In addition to experts, media representatives and parent bloggers, “real” mums and dads from the communities also had their say.
There were three main areas of discussion to improve the world of babies:
- Supporting preemie babies (and their parents)
- baby sleep
- Sustainable & local production
Pampers Asks & Parents Answer: How do we make baby’s world a little bit better?
1. PARENTS NEED EXCHANGE – ALSO WITH EACH OTHER.
Whether it’s about topics such as sustainability, baby sleep or the special situation of premature babies: Advice and exchange are more than a good source of information for parents – they give them support and give them the security that they don’t have to master challenges alone. This is also confirmed by the Pampers parent council. Especially in times of the pandemic, it became all the more clear how important it is for parents to be able to exchange ideas with other parents on the issues they are currently dealing with. In this case, tips are not unwanted, but helpful!
2. PARENTS WANT THE WORLD TO BE BETTER FOR ALL BABIES.
In the exchange, the Pampers parents’ council also found that sustainability is also becoming more and more of an issue in baby care. However: Sustainability must not be associated with additional effort or even costs if it is to benefit all babies in the world.
3. PARENTS WANT TO ASK FOR ADVICE.
Every child is different and even with the second or third baby, parents face problems that they themselves would not have expected. This is where experts come in! Whether sleep coaches or midwives: It is important for parents that their concerns are always taken seriously, no matter how “experienced” they may be. Only in this way – that much is certain – can it really work, with the better world for our babies!
Vote! To choose from: the three possible projects/project partners of the Pampers Elternrat
By the way: The parents’ council was just the beginning! Pampers not only takes the worries and thoughts of parents seriously, but also selects projects that are supported on this basis – so that the help really gets there.
