Women, deal with your finances! Interview with Constanze Maldener from investify
How do I invest money skillfully today – not only profitably, but also sustainably? Digital asset management companies, such as investify, offer one way to do this. Constanze Maldener from investify explains how this works in an interview.
MomaSquad: How did you come to investify?
Constanze: I used to work in marketing in the consumer and goods sector. I enjoyed designing products exactly according to customer requirements. But after ten years – including parental leave – I had to do something else. Many mothers can certainly understand this. That’s how I came to the topic of compliance. For this, I first completed a certificate course for one year. Then I got the job atinvestifyDisplaydiscovered – and that just seemed right for me. A digital asset manager with an innovative and contemporary investment. It was the right decision to change perspective, especially as regulation is becoming increasingly important in its importance.
Should women be more concerned with their own finances?
Constanze: Definite. Women should pay more attention to their money, and take care of their finances like men. For me personally, it is important to be financially independent. But this does not only include earning your own money – it is also about investing and thinking about tomorrow.
How can investify help?
Constanze: We are a digital wealth management company. From registration to conclusion of the contract to risk monitoring, everything goes online. This makes it easy for the customer, everything can be done at home on the computer or on the go on the mobile phone. What makes it exciting for women:investifyDisplaytakes over the management and monitoring of the portfolio completely. For women who may already have to reconcile family and career, this is interesting and saves time.
Does it all work automatically?
Constanze: In the beginning, each client creates an investment profile within a few minutes, investify then proposes a tailor-made portfolio. This portfolio can be supplemented by thematic investments, so that each client receives an individual portfolio that takes into account their own ideas and values – and, of course, their risk appetite.
Then you add your personal data, sign the contract digitally and identify yourself via video identification procedure in our app. And that’s it. After the deposit, our experts take over, who invest precisely, monitor the system daily and adjust it if necessary. In this way, customers only take as much risk as they can tolerate.
With us, there are no mountains of paper and no off-the-shelf solutions – each portfolio is as individual as the customer. Especially the individual touch when investing is likely to be an important topic for women.
But is this also sustainable?
Constanze: Yes, that’s what the investment themes are for. This allows customers to focus entirely on topics such as future energies, “renewable” returns or ethical investing. There are enough topics with emotionality where each customer can individually say “I want to invest there”. Of course, there are more topics, such as robotics, even if it may not appeal to women as much. And there will be more to come in the coming months and years.
Financial experts repeatedly recommend ETFs, index funds that track the market in a simple and cost-effective way. You say that’s just right for savers. Why invest then?
Constanze: investify also investifies primarily for customers in ETFs – this is our method of choice. However, we are also in a position to make this much broader and to align it with the risk needs of our clients. If you look closely, an ETF alone is not enough – there would be something missing for a good investment. In short, our experts keep an eye on the risk, adjust it if necessary, and – most importantly – they always keep our customers up to date. This is very different from just buying an ETF. And is cheapinvestifyDisplayalso because we ourselves use ETFs widely. This keeps costs low. ETF buyers do not have this advantage over invest customers.
Do you have some personal rules regarding your own finances?
Constanze: I’m always looking around for possibilities. In times of low interest rates, everyone is looking for opportunities to get a better return without taking too much risk. For me personally, it is important to have a high degree of flexibility. If necessary, I want my money, for example, if my car breaks down. Digital asset management such as investify is well suited for this.
What advice would you give to women when it comes to taking care of their money?
Constanze: I want to encourage women more – to be more independent, to make their own decisions. To dare to look at products like investify. And to simply dare to get started. The hurdles for this are not high: The costs are low and the minimum system is low, so just try it out. A tip here are savings plans. That’s what I’d like to pass on to women. You don’t have to go in with 50,000 euros, it starts with very small amounts.
